At the start, a card from each category is set aside face-down. Work out which Weapon, Suspect and Motive they are before another investigator does.

How to play
Vigilare.
Investigation
Draw and play cards. Steal, Swap and Spy on your rivals. Negotiate or deceive - gather private information until the deck runs out and the last turn ends.
Inquiry
Certain players get a final chance to interrogate the other players about the cards they hold - this might just be the last push needed to solve the mystery.
Theory
Name exactly one Weapon, one Suspect, and one Motive. Rivals can disprove your Theory with a matching card. If no one can, you win.

What makes it different
Choose how you
investigate.
You’ll need to learn from your rivals while deciding how much to let them learn from you.
01Read what others reveal
Watch the card backs, track public information, and work out what the other investigators might be holding.
02Keep your evidence hidden
Certain cards can be kept face-down so other players cannot identify them. They’ll need to find another way to learn what you know.
03Trade for a better lead
Make offers for hidden evidence and decide whether the information is worth what your rival wants in return.
04Use your card actions
Use card actions to investigate, disrupt, or take information, while watching for the counters that can stop you.
05Play to your character’s strengths
Your character’s ability affects how you play and when you can gain information.
06Challenge every theory
Name the weapon, suspect, and motive. One matching card can disprove the entire theory.
